I really like this ad. Maybe this will be the new direction of Apple's marketing?
I liked the ad too. It seems Apple was finally addressing the bazillion iPad wannabes and to some extent the gazillion iPhone wannabes, who's commercials tout the latest tech specs or a keyword like 'lightening fast' but yet fail to demo the everyday usefulness. Something Apple has long touted in its iPhone commercials let alone their iPad ones.
Beat that Xoom! I don't want to feel cacooned by my tablet and I don't want my eyes turning into the next Terminator. I want technology to get out of the way and just work while the ad points to what would be useful if I purchase one.
Apple, for it's iOS devices, have nailed that roadmap! :apple:

I just picked up the Belkin Grip Vue at BestBuy in Wilmington, DE. Very pleased.
What color? The ones I saw at BB today were light blue, bright green and pink.

Several court rulings have placed the rights of Gay people above the rights of people holding religious beliefs.
I'm all for the distribution of the app on grounds of free speech (which may or may not apply to a curated app store like Apple's). However, I do like the ignorant statement you just made here, that I've quoted.
Can you give me an example where the basic RIGHTS of a religious person was violated by upholding gay rights?

Can we perform a clean installation with DP2 or do we have to first install DP1? I just deleted the original Lion installation image from my backup drive, thinking I could restore the DP2 image to an external drive and boot from there. But it looks more like this requires Lion DP1. How do I download DP1 again from the AppStore if I need it? :(
OK, finally got it to work. First tried converting the .app installation file to a .dmg and then restoring that to a flash drive, but Disk Utility couldn't scan the file. Then I ran the program, and upon restarting copied the installation image located in the temporary partition to a USB flash drive, which is now bootable.
I'd recommend a clean installation rather than updating 10.6.7 since this poses less problems with program compatibility. For example, Cool Book didn't work after the update but works fine following a clean installation of Lion.

VERY disappointed in Apple, but hardly surprised.
Not saying its a "Good" app, as it is clearly ridiculous and ignorant, but hey, so is "Angry Birds" and half the other apps on the store. This one is simply politically incorrect, and Appl once again proved that they are at the beck and call of the PC special interest hootin n hollerin, just like porn-app-gate.
You don't like the idea that businesses can choose what they want to offer or not offer.

left to right:
20" Apple Cinema Display, 1st Gen.
I don't think that's a first-gen, mate. The first gens were acrylic:

<Cool story>
Pic of my airplane setup (I was watching one of the Back to the Future movies):
LOVE those movies. I had the complete set on VHS, plus a fourth "behind-the-scenes" tape, but I lost the first one :(
Btw, it was a class trip at my Jewish school (hence the going out to dinner on Pico Blvd). The kosher food in LA is AMAZING!!
As good as NY?

I am talking about graphics capabilities now.
Actually, you are just confused and trying to back peddle:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12245564&postcount=105
You are talking DirectX version numbers(which already has nothing to do with what we're talking about and has no bearing under OS X) in relation to OpenCL when OpenCL has nothing to do with DirectX? Something doesn't add up here.

So are their manual gearboxes.
;)
Kinda. They are manual gear boxes with no clutch pedal. Shifting is either automatic or manual.
Technically, it's a manual gearbox... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-Shift_Gearbox)
If this sounds strange, I had an old Beetle with a stick shift automatic.

would be interesting to see it in action. I'm not sure I'd like touching my iMac screen, in fact right now I HATE fingers near my iMac's screen let alone a fingerprint. I'll have to see it before I completely bash it though :)

Of course! No need to do this. Apple can try something innovative on the existing iPod classic like adding bluetooth etc. That would be pretty handy :)

Only ones upset over such news is Johny what's his face who hangs out at the local booby bar, when his wife thinks he's somewhere else.
If that's going to bother her, she can track him, anyway. And if it does bother her, there's an easy solution. Try saying "yes".
al franken?
I thought it was just us "tinfoil hats" as was said yesterday by some in these forums, who would be upset about this?
Guess not.
Uh, Franken sells his homemade tinfoil hats right on his personal website. What are you comparing him to?

Okay, stupid question, sort of related.
I'm running optibay on my MBP (SSD & HDD with SSD split running my apps and OS, and then Win7, and my HDD acting as my storage drive for my media).... when I install Lion how crazy is that going to get?
I HIGHLY doubt (but do hopelessly hope [yes, I know]) that it'll be as easy as swapping my snow leopard with Lion... meaning that my Win7 will remain.... although for some reason I feel that I'll need to format the entire SSD, thus erasing my win7 install?
The only reason I ask is that it's a pita to install Win7 with this setup due to Win7 not loading from disk via USB... so I have to remove the damn optibay and put my optical drive back in.
So basically, I assume I have to re-link my OSX (as it's split now between ssd and hdd)... but do I have to erase my Win7 install as well on the SSD?
