Thanks for the answer
Is there a reason why they're sticking with mobile RAM and GPU? Is it part of some Eco power saving strategy, or is there a different reason?
Do you like when your iMac work quiet that you even don't hear it? So, Apple use CPU TDP 65Watt, not the really fast ones and mobile GPU to have TDP as low as possible, so it's won't get hot there. iMac it's a big portable, it's not really a desktop horse. Apple can't install in iMac fast i7 CPU like 2600k 3.4Ghz because it's 95Watt TDP, they go with 2600S 2.8Ghz with 65Watt TDP.

That's interesting. I have never heard of this before. This could push me over the edge to get a Mac Pro sooner than later. Is this discount/upgrade pricing documented anywhere??
No because it's not worked that way in the recent past.
If you buy a Mac once Leopard ships (possibly after they announce the shipping date), you should be able to apply for the Up to Date program which will send you discs for the cost of shipping. If you buy in an Apple Store/online, they'll usually drop a copy into the box but this covers those who buy from 3rd parties.
Otherwise, regardless of whether you bought last year, last month or the week before, you pay the normal retail price for the new OS. They're all classed as 'upgrades' after all.

My thoughts exactly, except I wouldn't say she's that hot.

...for everyone complaining about the lack of a usb plug - the usb is in the headphones plug - seems to me someone will come out with some sort of headphones with a usb plug in them soon enough. anyway, I always thought the old shuffle was useless as a flash drive - it was too big to fit in a lot of usb ports - and even this new design is physically huge compared to some of the latest sticks (you can put a sony microvault tiny anywhere - ive actually stuck it in my shoe and forgotten about it) and too small in the memory department - has anyone seen how cheap 2gb drives are these days? Finally, I can't imagine it comparing in the file transfer speed department.

Why could it not have a secular constitution?
Significant numbers are Christian, actually. 4% now, 8% until 1946, and of course Maronites make up 22% of the population of Lebanon.
It could have a secular constitution at the beginning, but constitutions can be changed and thrown out if the wrong people gain too much power. Islam is a threat to secularism when they gain large numbers and political power.
And 4% is not what i would consider significant. That's just silly.

I'm becoming sure that however many Macs Apple sells, that market share figure will never climb above the magic 5% limit.
Does saying that make me one of those Mac Zealots I keep hearing about?

So that's probably around 120-130.
If it is, ouch. The specs are quite unimpressive too; the camera only runs at 640x480 30fps.
The Wii Fit wast $100 and it was only for exercise...and they sold 22 million of them.
I don't think they really need anything really high rez to get the outline of your body. But maybe in a future version where it might recognize facial expressions like in some of those old demos...you'd either have to be close, or need a Kinect 2. And you gotta be pretty darn fast to make 30 fps not fast enough for some of these games I think. Unless you're like a karate master. ;)

Piercing, ouch. I have passed that stage already; although, never really had that much guts to do it.
I was watching one of those court TV shows the "Texas..." something and a guy had a tattoo on his neck which said "Eat more pu**y" :) He was saying that because of his job-working around some school or church-he had to cover it up.

Text is also mostly unreadable (in the video) so you can't see subtitles or news crawls. The audio, however, sounds surprisingly good.
...Seems it would be better to send subtitles as a separate component of the data stream, so that the viewer can select font size etc. Maybe one day this will be possible.
My comment only applied to video streamed over 3G, streaming over WiFi should be able to show pretty small text.
However for 3G, if you encode the video manually as I've previously explained you CAN read fairly small text, like the news crawl on CNN (somewhat difficult to read, but possible).
I'm going to request that Elgato add a custom iPhone setting so that you can encode at something other than their very low quality cellular or the too high bitrates they use in their 480x360 iPhone setting. If they did that then you could record shows and have them automatically converted into something that would stream nicely over the 3G network at about 300Kbps.

10.6 is very decent but there are a couple of minor things that would make me very happy;
being able to password protect individual folders
and
greater freedom in being able to display/group your files and apps as you like (for example being able to group apps by type/frequency of use or being able to list a track under several genres/artists in itunes; which should be possible as the program doesn't have to edit the ID3 tags).
And MacPaint!

How is magnesium going to prevent the screen from being scratched? I could care less what the ipod is made out of. The only thing I care about is how is Apple going to prevent the screen from being scratched. Apple should do what Nokia has done for the Nokia 8801 cell phone, and use a saphire crystal (Or hell if Apple wants to go cheaper then use a mineral cyrstal) for the iPod screen. This will prevent scratches completly. The only draw back with saphire is that it will chip, but keep in mind watch makers uses saphire and mineral crystal all the time on GOOD watches. These watches are used daily like an iPod and people hardly drop them hard enough or bang them hard enough to chip them. Hell I bang my watch really hard sometimes (on accident) and just expect to see a chip, when I look down my watch is perfectly fine, no scratches or chips, and I have had it for over two years.

Yeah, I had an idea of it in my head, but you cleared it up, thanks. I guess I got confused at the part where I said that UMTS is TDMA based when really it's actually just intended for GSM networks, correct? And yeah, it bothers me, too, that IS-95 is not used more often.
CDMA is owned by Qualcomm so everytime someone makes a cdma compliant handset qualcomm gets a portion of the profit. WCDM/UMTS is not owned by Qualcomm so more profits for the handset makers. Profit usually wins out over quality.

Princetonians, in my experience, are fratboys, prudes, and associated squares--by far the worst of the Ivies. Not a creative bone in the entire student body. They wouldn't know Macintosh if it bit them in their collective beige butt.
So tell me, how on earth is this good news? Unimaginative folk like these don't belong on our platform. Much better to celebrate the longstanding prevalence of Macs on progressive, independent-minded, and artistic campuses such as Brown and Columbia. But Princeton? Give me a break.
