I would hope that creating a bootable DVD/flash drive would be part of the installation process.

So far you must enter a redemption code in the app store which allows you to download Lion.
If you want to install it on multiple computers you can copy the install file to another Mac but it needs to use the same app store account info.
I haven't found a way to burn or make it bootable since they don't offer a full dmg file on the developer page like they did with SL.

My thoughts exactly. Our school district (ISD 482) just bought 1,465 iPads for its students, and I can see us getting really mad if Apple were to release a new iPad 6 mos. later.
So how is that much different from them releasing new iPads 11 months later... like they just did? All the iPads in use didn't suddenly stop working.

Have you looked at the TouchWiz UI? It's almost identical to iOS - dock at the bottom, pages of icons in a grid and you even remove applications in the same way as you do on the iPhone. I've nothing at all against competition for iOS, but they shouldn't just rip the design off

You are mixing up badly. That example shows that humans who can read, are trained to rely on what they read almost blindly rather than identifying a color. This means, Apples choice of making the icons grey makes it indeed easier to recognize as there is one less distraction. An even stronger conclusion would be: Leave the icons away completely, because reading is much faster.
Icons were useful in the 1990s, when the number of pixels on the screen was small. Nowadays, just use text, it is way better. Look at websites, icons are used very sparsely. Text is the way to go.

The full study demonstrated that for individuals who are more visually oriented (rely upon visual cues as opposed to verbal and mathematical) they process the color and not the word more readily. That's what I get for a quick reference to Wiki lol.
So I suppose it depends on each individual and their inherent (whether natural or nurtured) ability to process that information. Personally I test off the charts for spatial reasoning (and my math sucks lol) so I respond faster and more efficiently to reasonably colored graphical cues. For those who don't the grey is great, just give us a choice! Lol

I have a folder with all the finder etc icons I use for apps and system icons (even icons for the System Prefence pane such as the newer display icon)including a black glass dock and icons with simple yet detailed in colors of blue, black, white, etc that I simply drag and drop into their respective resources folder. I even made color replacements for the Finder sidebar in the various three sizes (16, 18 and 32 for small, medium and large) yet in every resource folder for sidebar system icons I find nothing has changed. Oh well. It was fun to learn some new underpinnings of Lion.

The lack of a fresh new look will keep me away, especially retaining the tiny screen. Seems like Apples coasting this time around.

HA ha! Guess what my first new car was (when i turned 17)...an 05' Scion TC.

Well if that is acting as a fraction bar which acts like a grouping symbol (parentheses). So if then 9+3 = 12 12*2 = 24. 48/24 = 2. However, if that was a normal division symbol. then 9+3 = 12. 48/2 = 24 24*12 = 288. So is it a fraction bar or a division symbol yo.

That is probably either down to your dad trying very hard to avoid tax, and/or the US tax system in its current state being too complex.
Both of those possibilities can be solved without getting rid of income tax.
I'd be equally optimistic about a reformed income tax system that was less complicated.

but if nobody spends to buy that small business's product, how will it survive? Yes you need some saving, but spending is equally important. What we should have done was saved while the economy was going good and we could afford to have that money sitting on the sides and now that the economy is bad we should be spending to restart it. Investors/traders and real scientists, on the other hand, are merely trying to understand the workings of something they can't change.

As I mentioned above, the biggest hurdle would be x86 emulation. I would suspect ARM are looking at that closely, and would have some kind of on-chip functionality to speed up that process.

So what I mean it really doesn't matter if Yonah is reduced does it?Apple probably has a JUST-IN-TIME arrangement with Intel that keeps an obsolete processor inventory from ever building up. This would be pared with an auto price reduction scheme as Intel lowers prices to the public. Just guessing.

I have a MBP now, but would consider upgrading if they offered some nice redesign goodies. I love the MB's magnetic latch, but i love the MBP's keyboard (especially the backlight, though when I bought it I thought I'd disable that feature). The design elements that Apple (in my opinion) has to include are the easily swappable HDD and RAM like in the MB. The feature that i would love to see, but probably won't, is and eSATA port instead of FW800. I guess now i just wait and see....

No, I don't understand it that way. I understand that each group (one if we stay together, multiple if we split up) designates a leader. We do ALL of our conversation in the thread. Only the group leaders communicate the wishes of their group to the Game Gods via PM. They may take the consensus of the group, or they may implement decisions unilaterally without regard to group majority.

My concern with A windshield mount is all the wires hanging down. Two if using power cord and speaker cord.

You just need to be a little creative to get around that. I did this for my Garmin Nuvi, and if I were to run this Tom Tom thing, I would find a place to mount it somewhere in the cockpit and do the same:
Wired an aux cig adapter in the accessory box so it is out of site. It is wired so it turns off when the vehicle is shut down and powers up when the vehicle is on.

Like I said, you probably can't mount the phone this way (EDIT: Looking at the pics above, it does seem you can mount the phone this way), but the concept remains the same for mounting around the dash area. Extending the wiring for the Nuvi was a little more extensive than it probably is for this Tom Tom thing, because the traffic alerts are built into the adapter (which acts as a receiver) so I think there were a total of 13 micro wires that needed to be soldered individually.
