So no yutz need apply for next mobile processor amticipation duty all of next year, unless of course you mean the 4 core Mobile version of Merom coming next Fall '07. :)And Santa Rosa will add to Merom's Power next Spring. I have predicted this from the moment Apple said Lion will be out this summer! There is NO WAY they could get them both done that fast!

Ah man. I wanted a cheap, robust, no-BS phone. I don't know what my next cellphone will be. I just don't feel like investing a lot into a cellphone. What I want to do is to just TALK!

That comment about two-drive sleds makes me nervous. Apple seems to sometimes sacrifice function for form. Hense the tendency for the smaller notebooks to get REALLY HOT. This is a problem for gamers, because most 3G games just use 100% CPU all of the time, and some Macs (mine for instance) have been known to develop faults as a result of prolongued exposure to heat.
So, here they're going to pack the hard drives in more tightly? Fine for SSDs, but mechanical hard drives are unreliable beasts. Packing them closer is just going to make it harder to cool them properly. And in fact, it appears that most PC makers (Apple is no exception) pay very little attention to hard drive cooling. Why do you think there were so many Time Capsule failures? Apple III all over again. No fans, no airflow, component failure.

Just like anyone that buys a BMW, Ferrari or Porsche is dumb. What is dumb is thinking one product is better than another. What is better, the iPhone, Android or a Star Tec? I guess if the only thing I want to do is make phone calls my old Star Tec is the best if it still works. My point is it depends on what your needs are.

Has anyone been able to find this kit in Canada yet, I very much want to get one? The Apple Canada website says not yet available. I called the local Apple Store today and they told me that they don't carry it, but the Apple guy did say that they wouldn't be told about it until the day it becomes available.

That's right, I'm a customer, and I'll modify my apple device how I see fit, and that including jailbreaking, enabling XCode to develop applications for my device without paying apple $99 ( afterall,nothing is going to reach the appstore - so why does Apple deserve the $99 ?). At the end of the day - a JB device is more useful than a locked up device.
LOL! Did the policy change? iOS dev kit was free and the $99 was if you wanted to join the developers program. Either way... $99 to join a developers program is cheap. Yeah... not free... but not $1500 or more like many other companies who have developer programs.
And yes, you do have your "right" to modify your iPhone as you see fit. But I have to agree with Apple on this one... encouraging people to JB for a silly and ugly Scion theme is not good commercial business. What they should say is "Void your Apple warrantee and install our ugly Scion theme". No company should encourage the public to do things that will bust their warrantee and Apple has the rights to "put the brakes" on this Toyota. :D

Calendar wise it is... but most people don't view the middle of September as "summer". Meteorological summer is over by then, and that's MUCH more important, IMO.
That's not "Calendar" summer, it is based on cycles of the sun, precisely, the solstices and equinoxes. ;)
It just so happens that the Fall equinox falls in mid-september while Summer solstice is on the 21st of June.

That's a shame. I'd like to get a 3rd party SSD but would prefer to wait till using TRIM with it is officially supported by Mac OS X.

Suction mounts are magnets for thieves. They leave a circular mark on the windshield that says "break into my car - I have a GPS unit for you to steal!". The thief will be very annoyed when they just find the Tom-Tom mount - until they figure out that they sell for > $100 LOL They will undoubtedly steal other stuff and break your window in the process.
I prefer the friction mounts that just sit on your dashboard and fit easily into the glove box. They are much more stealthy, and work great. Mine never slips or slides around. This is the one I use for my Garmin Nuvi:

Last I heard, Apple was going to use non-Apple gear in their NC data center. That was just a rumor of course. But if there really are rackable Mac Pros on the way, I wonder if Apple could use them in NC...

I dont think its going to be though the App Store. The only reason its thought he app store now is the minimise abuse.

There is just too many what ifs
I think the should use USB flash drives rather then DVDs IF the flash drives are faster then the DVD

Seriously, it would suck if they didn't allow you to burn your own copy to a disk. Even Microsoft allows you to do that if you buy Windows online as a digital download. They allow you to actually backup all your media from them to an external drive / disk, including Office. They recommend it.
If they wont allow us to burn a copy, I will be ordering a physical disk copy off of Amazon.

Not true. You can not update to DP2 via Software Update. You have to re-install the entire OS via App Store. The only thing you download via Software Update is a 2.2MB pre-install patch.
